Jennifer Hudson and Robin Thicke Peform at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago

Robin Thicke ooohed and wooed the woman in the audience and Jennifer Hudson was glad to be in her hometown Chicago with family.

Jennifer Hudson performed at the Arie Crown Theater on Saturday, April 25, 2009. This is the first time the Academy and Grammy Award Winner by way of American Idol, came back to her home town of Chicago as a headliner, selling two nights. Only about a half a year ago she lost her mother, brother and young nephew to tragedy. Early on in the show, Hudson welcomed her family and many were in attendance.

Hudson and Thicke have been on tour for much of the month. Robin Thicke had women in the audience flooding the front and dancing along. Somewhere along his performance, Thicke threw out a towel or piece of clothing to one of the young ladies in the front row causing jealousy among the other female attendees. Majority of Thicke's songs were welcomed with high cheer and woo.

The Game on the L.A.X. Tour in Chicago

The Game on the L.A.X. Tour in Chicago
House of Blues – Chicago, IL, USA – March 29, 2009
by Tamara Jenkins

Amid the storm of flashing lights and heavy smoke lingering in the air, a standing room only audience awaited the arrival of rap's notorious son, Game, who brought his L.A.X. Tour to Chicago's House of Blues on March 29th.

The all ages show brought out quite a diverse crowd. From b-boys and preppy frat boys, to young and old; white, black and latin; everyone was anxious. But the excitement and anticipation turned to restlessness and maybe even frustration as the crowd waited for what seemed like an eternity for the man of the moment to appear. Opening acts Chicago's Money Bag Boyz and L.A. rapper Nipsey Hussle, whose style is reminiscent of Snoop Dog, failed to create very little, if any, enthusiasm from the crowd; but the final act, Jay Rock, also from L.A., drew modest attention when he performed his current single "All My Life" featuring Lil Wayne.

Description of Taste of Chicago
The Taste of Chicago that evolved from that steamy July 4th in 1980 is the second largest tourist attraction in Illinois. For ten days, this free- admission festival, now in its 27th year, is the place to be, infusing the city with a holiday spirit and attracting lead stories each day in newspapers and on television.

It is an impressive scene. Colorfully decorated tents surround the outside kitchens of more than 70 restaurants from all over Chicagoland, which also includes a daily upscale restaurant serving in the Gourmet Pavilion. Exotic aromas permeate the air and no visitor leaves a food booth empty handed.

Taste of Chicago annually attracts more than 6 million visitors from all over the city, the suburbs, U.S. and internationally.

In 1989, Mayor Richard M. Daley’s first year in office, the focus for Taste shifted to a family theme and the event became “America’s City Picnic.” In that spirit, many other attractions with family appeal were added.

The festival is ever evolving and has become the marquee event of the summer not to be missed!
